Goal.com Wins Award

Popular sports and soccer website was recently awarded the title of “Best Football Website”, as voted by users of Soccerlens, a sports aggregator website.  Each year, the awards for the industry are given to the site charged with web hosting the best content and coverage.

Public Relations director for the soccer site, Will Wood, followed up the announcement by saying “we are delighted to be named Best Football Website in the Soccerlens Awards and it’s the perfect end to 2010 for our editors and reporters who work hard to deliver the best, most comprehensive and representative football coverage”.

Goal finished ahead of major sporting sites in charge of webhosting football news, including Sky Sports, Guardian Football and BBC Football portals.  With regularly updated content in more than twenty languages and availability in over 200 countries worldwide, traffic to Goal.com more than doubled year-on-year, and it took nearly half the vote in beating its competitors to claim the Soccerlens award.
