In light of an upcoming labor dispute with team owners, franchisees and the league itself, players in America’s National Football Association have taken initiative and given its opponents a course
in how to build a website to garner fan support. The players have used the site to take a stand against the league sponsored nfllabor.com, by using an appropriately contrary title, nfllockout.com.
The site will inform fans of the NFLPA involvement in a proposed labor dispute that could see the partial postponement or cancellation of the 2011-2012 professional football season. The title of the player-sponsored site is a reference to the NFLPA view that any disruption to the next season will come as a result of a league-enforced lockout rather than a player-sponsored strike.
Using the web hosting platform offered by the site, the NFLPA is hoping to collect one million fan signatures petitioning against lockout or any other form of disagreement that would prevent the 2011-2012 season from taking place.
